Nice safe, likely the best value out there when you factor in the Made in USA steel and the very good fire rating. The DPX door feature with the cutouts for scopes is sweet! However, that same DPX door unit does protrude quite a bit into the safe so you need to be careful. I was a bit disappointed with actual capacity as the hyped up advertising of 65 long guns is unrealistic. You'll never get 65 long guns in it unless all you have is Winchester 94 carbines. Thick stocks like M1As and Garands take up space and you need to take into account that op rod handle. In my application, I succeeded in getting 46 long guns of various types in. Compared to my old Liberty Fatboy which was also rated for 65 guns (again, totally unrealistic) this safe is much easier use as you don't have to dig through multiple layers of guns to get at the ones in the back. One more thing: USASafeandVault.com was super to deal with and had the best price hands down.

I bought this early 2019. I was a little put off by the weight, but with an array of aftermarket products and configurable shelves there are a lot of options. Yes, the gun rack in the door protrudes into the safe about 5 inches, but without the door storage that would be unusable space anyway. If it becomes troubling it can also be removed. With the recessed area in the door to accommodate most rifles with mounted scopes (does not fit my TAC-50 or MK13) and the door organizer I was able to find a place for 18 rifles, 35 pistols, ammunition, magazines and 2 full body armor suits as well as range bags and reloading supplies and have room for future acquisitions.

Solid

This is a well built safe and I like the better than average fire rating. I purchased it primarily as I wanted to have more room for firearms and also wanted to close two large safety deposit boxes at my local bank which was costing me nearly $300 per year. This safe allows me to do just that. I really liked the ability to store my long guns on the door, even scoped rifles.

GREAT SAFE

A quality safe for the rifle collector. Good for maybe 40 rifles. No way someone could get 65 rifles in it. It's a big safe, so make sure you can move it once its in your house.
