For fire protection, it is lined with 2 layers of drywall that are strategically engineered for optimal fire protection. This enables the FV Gun Safe to pass a verified 45 minute fire test at Intertek, an independent testing laboratory.

Better than competitor brands

Not the greatest safe ever made, but substantially better than the competitors product in the same price range. Do I wish it cost less? Sure! Do I wish it was cheaper? Never!

Totally amazing

For this type of safe it is just short if not outstanding. Compared to all others in this price range except for maybe one other brand or model it blows everything else away. Fire rating, total steel content for this level and price, total number of locking bolts, even the gauge of steel for the body and the solid sheet of steel on the door when compared makes foreign made 'safes' look like a joke with their ultra chintzy 12 gauge composite door. The premium door panel is solid and very high quality, seems as or more durable than my 900 cordura drag bag. This safe for its size is heavy. Amsec is has a great videos on their website on how they design and manufacture everything right here in the USA. Could it be better? yes of course. But you get what you pay for and in this case its an excellent value but its not a cheaply built product.
